The author argues that funeral rituals providing in the Czech lands in the 18th and 19th centurie were closely connected with their social implications, which even included violent manifestations of personal confessionality. These processes have desappeared during the 19th century as a result of modernisation and dezeclesialization of Czech religiosity and social space.
