Research Ethics Board is established to assess the ethical acceptability of research activities conducted by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
The main objective is to ensure the protection of the rights of research participants and compliance with discipline-relevant ethical principles. The mission of the Research Ethics Board is to enhance the quality of and to strengthen public trust in social science research.
The role of the Research Ethics Board is
- to ensure a competent, objective, transparent and independent assessment of submitted research proposals regarding their compliance with ethical standards, and, thereby, to increase awareness and understanding of the standards among staff;
- to contribute insights and opinions to the debate on current issues in the ethics of scientific research.
The activities of the Board are governed by the Statutes and Rules of Procedure of the Research Ethics Board.
