The Sociological Library is a modern specialised library, which is intended to serve the needs of researchers, students, and the wider academic community. Library collection contains just about 25 thousand volumes. All items are available for use in the library study hall and about two thirds of books may be borrowed for home use. The holdings are placed in free access to shelves, local storeroom, and remote depository in Jenštejn accessed weekly.

Collection development was based on limited purchase budget as well as on grants, institutional and personal book endowments and numerous small free copy gifts. Donations and contributions to help expand the library stock are welcome and greatly appreciated.
