The subject of this sociologically oriented project is a case study of the lives of businessmen and businesswomen in contemporary Czech society. The project offers a comprehensive analysis of social and political mechanisms affecting professional and private lives of businessmen and businesswomen, with an emphasis placed on the gendered social arrangements.

The text focuses on the analysis of the experience with unemployment and the proces of seeking for work of two cathegories of women: women university graduates and women after parental leave.
The sociological study is a qualitative analysis of life conditions and strategies of women in mangerial positions based on a case study of a group of managers at one workplace. the subject of study was the study of strategies aimend at harmonising work and family responsibilities and the values related to these two spheres expressed by these women.
