The changes in the nature of work and labor market conditions that have taken place in recent decades have, on the one hand, brought greater flexibility and freedom for both employees and employers, but on the other hand, have reduced protections for employees. Union membership has declined, as has the number of employees protected by collective bargaining agreements, and people in a fragmented and precarious labor market find themselves without protection. The urgency of reflecting on these changes became very clear during the pandemic. This paper seeks to highlight the emergence of new trends in the labor market and their impact on various groups of employees in the Czech Republic.
