EU Enlargement, Gender and Political Power: The Civic and Political Participation of Women and the Representation of Women’s Interests in EU Candidate Countries

The research project focuses on the study of the political and civic participation of women in Central and Eastern Europe. It analyses the range and strategies of women’s involvement in political parties, NGOs, trade unions and social movements, and it also studies to what extent these institutions support or hinder women’s participation in determining and influencing the actual policies that are either directly or indirectly at the core of women’s interests.
