Politika odvolání jako inovativní nástroj prosazování transparentnosti a občanské účasti ve slovenské a polské místní samosprávě

This article examines the recall process in Polish and Slovak local government, where disatisfied residents have already ousted from power dozens of mayors, often on the basis of perceived corruption or abuse of power. In these countries, the local recall is among the most important innovations supporting civic engagement. The article assesses the recall as an instrument of democratic innovation and determines whether it offers a form of decision-making capable of resolving major local conflicts.
