The civic amenities of small local communities are an essential issue in rural development planning and are also becoming a frequent theme in rural support campaigns. However, a detailed empirical analysis of amenities in local communities and their evolution over time has not yet been conducted in the Czech Republic. The article provides a fundamental quantitative analysis of civic amenities in small communities, the dynamics of their development, and the underlying factors that influence their localisation. On the basis of this data, the authors propose the concept of a „common local standard” as a tool to allow evaluation of amenities in individual communities and present a publicly accessible online tool: „village service calculator”.
