In the article, citizenship is framed not only within rights and duties, but within ways of political and economic participation, and cognition and practices of social and cultural inclusion and belonging. Thus, aiming to full citizenship includes political processes of redistribution of material, economic and political resources on one hand, and recognition on another hand. This implies cultural and social transformation of gendered and culturally and ethnically defined actors. …

Třetí sektor a občanská participace v České republice

The paper aims to make a complex analysis of how the third sector and civic participation function in the CR. It describes the types and structures of Czech NGOs, introduces a new typology of NGOs based on selected criteria, evaluates how the Czech third sector functions in the CEE context, and further elaborates on notions of participation among Czech citizens. The paper summarises the strengths and weaknesses of Czech NGOs and points to future opportunities and possible risks in this context.…

The chapter is dedicated to testing of validity of classical agenda-setting hypothesis in Czech environment per panel data from the second quarter of 2008.
