With experts from the humanities, private sector, and cybersecurity, the event examines the opportunities, ethical questions, and security challenges that arise as AI becomes integral to energy infrastructures.
The panel discussion will explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in the energy sector. As energy systems become increasingly complex, interconnected, and data-driven, AI promises new efficiencies and innovations—but also raises critical questions about security, ethics, and societal impact.
Our panel brings together three distinguished experts whose perspectives span the humanities, industry, and cybersecurity:
- Prof. Dr. Katja Müller, Heisenberg Professor for Technology, Ethics and Society at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, will offer a humanities-centered viewpoint on the ethical, social, and cultural implications of deploying AI across energy infrastructures.
- Jan Denemark, representing Flowbox, will provide insights from the private sector, focusing on practical applications of AI in energy management, automation, and optimization.
- Martin Leskovjan, specialist in IT and cyber-physical security, will address vulnerabilities, threat scenarios, and protective strategies for safeguarding AI-driven energy systems.
Together, they will discuss not only what AI can do for energetics, but also what it should do—and under what conditions it can be safely and responsibly integrated into future energy networks.
