The Social Capital and Social Policy Network (SCSPN): Social Cohesion, Trust and Participation: Social Capital, Social Policy and Social Cohesion in the European Union and Candidate Countries

In the first part, we comment issue of social capital and third sector in the Czech Republic with specific focus on NGOs, civic participation and social trust. Public policy in the civic sector is discussed. In the second part, we review literature (academic as well as gray) on five specific policy elements: pre-school childcare, combating under-education and truancy, work-life balance, impact of retirement on releasing social capital, impact of social capital on preventing/delaying old age dependency.
