Důsledky ekonomické krize a sociální kapitál
A role of social capital and of its individual dimensions working at overcoming the impacts of economic crises is analysed. Study focuses on a detailed analysis of the inhabitants of the Kraj Vysočina with a supposed high level of social capital, and of Ustecky kraj with a supposed low level of social capital. Regionální změny
The chapter evaluates the regional changes in the Czech society on the level of districts in the period from 1991 to 2001. On the basis of census and the other statistics analyzes the regional differences in age structure, education, economic activity, average incomes, and religious affiliation. Data from large surveys are used for the study of regional differences in social status. Cultural differences among regions tend to decrease while economic one tend to increase.…

Regionální rozdíly ve finanční dostupnosti vlastnického bydlení mezi roky 2000-2006
Czech Regions are very different in terms of affordability of ownership housing because regional differences in prices are larger that regional differences in household incomes. Ownership housing is the least affordable in Prague and South Moravia while the most affordable in Usti and Moravia-Silesia Regions. Analysis of data from period 2000-2006 proved that affordability of ownership housing is quickly changing over time.…

The chapter introduces new housing policy tools proposed in connection to economic crisis. The first one is the “temporary bridging loan for homeowners repaying mortgage loans”, who were caught in defaults because of the crisis. The effectiveness of the tool, target groups and basic principles of application are discussed.
