Nešpor, Zdeněk R. 2017. „Socjologia czeska i wojna“. Roczniki Historii Socjologii. 6/: 81–100. ISSN 2084–2031.

The article is devoted to the problem of war as surveyed in the Czech sociology and to the significance of the experience of the war for the Czech science. Before the WWII, the topic in question was on the margin of main interests of Czech scholars, and the situation did not even improve after the war. When the WWII has begun, many universities were closed, but a lot of sociologists were able to continue their work. Nevertheless, both the quality and quantity of the works published then was poor, to say at least of it. After the WWII, sociology was perceived as a socially prestigious discipline, which bore some fruits in the period when the institutions bagan to flourish, but did not add up to a deeper analysis of teh experience of war and occupation. Be this as it may, the time was scarce, because after the communist takeover in 1948 the period of Stalinisation began.
