Czech Attitude Barometer: From Panel Design to Early Results
Matouš Pilnáček, Ivan Petrúšek, Michaela Prokeš
This mid-term seminar introduces the Czech Attitude Barometer (CAB) panel survey and provides a structured overview of the survey design, data collection process, and initial analytical insights based on the data collected to date. Data collection within the Czech Attitude Barometer started in June 2024, and to date, eight waves of panel data have been completed by the end of 2025.
The seminar aims to reflect on the implementation of the probability-based panel, assess key aspects of data collection, and discuss the analytical potential of the longitudinal data. It will introduce the underlying probability-based panel, including sampling procedures, recruitment, incentives, and fieldwork organization.
The seminar then provides an overview of the Czech Attitude Barometer as a longitudinal panel survey, covering its individual panel waves, core and rotating variables, measurement structure, survey periodicity, and data availability. Finally, the selected preliminary findings will be presented, focusing on the stability of key attitudes and behaviors over time, based on analyses of the first eight waves of the survey.
