Borderscapes of Care in Europe: The Case of Czech Live-in Care Workers in Germany

This chapter presents an analysis of the lived experiences of Czech cross-border care workers who work in Germany in live-in care for seniors. The European care border regime: Theorising extraction, exploitation, and East–West inequalities in cross-border care work in central Europe

In the European Union (EU), a significant portion of migrant care workers comprise European citizens from Central and Eastern EU member states. Extracting care from women on the move: Nuances of exploitation in bordering and marketized care in the EU

This paper explores how practices of extraction in marketized care alter and intensify the exploitation of women on the move. Transnational migration and the extractivist logic of global capitalism: the EU–Eastern Africa geopolitical space.

The chapter traces the ways in which transnational migration is an inherent part of the evolving modes of value extraction and capital accumulation.
