This article deals with legitimacy of democracy and its relationship to trust in institutions in the Czech Republic. The author distinguishes between support for democracy as a form of government, and satisfaction with the development of democracy in a (particular) country, and searches for the factors which this depends on. Economic Justice in the Czech Republic, 1991-1995
The article examines the results of 1991 and 1995 ISJP (International Social Justice Project) surveys conducted in the Czech Republic. The surveys showed that among citizens of post-communist countries Czechs stood closest to the West in their profile of beliefs and attitudes about economic justice. In 1991, Czech citizens strongly resembled their counterparts in Western Europe with regard to support the key principles of capitalism and in their attitudes toward state intervention in economy.…

Surveys of MPs and Senators in the Parlament of the Czech Republic between 1993 and 2005
The article provides an overview of the surveys conducted among MPs of the Czech parliament between 1993 and 2005. It describes seven surveys conducted among MPs and one survey among members of the Senate. These surveys are characterised from the perspective of the content of the observed variables and from the perspective of representativeness, which is demonstrated by the percentage of MPs taking part in the survey. Party System Nationalization and Non-Uniform Vote Switching: Evidence from the Czech Republic
National rather than regional party systems are the norm in most democratic states.The link between party system nationalization and the individual voter has not been examined in the same detail. Here this link is explored using an ecological inference analysis of vote switching. This research, using the Czech Republic as a case study, shows that the presence of high party system nationalization evident across a pair of elections may be associated with non-uniform electoral swings.…
