Focus

Fear of crime, well-being, juvenile victimization and delinquency, public attitudes towards punishment, desistance and reoffending, and trust in criminal justice institutions.

Medallion

Eva Krulichová, Ph.D., is Head of the Department of Values and Politics at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on criminology, particularly fear of crime, juvenile delinquency and victimization, subjective well-being, punitive attitudes, desistance and reoffending, and trust in the criminal justice system.

She is also an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and collaborates with the Department of Sociology at Charles University and the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention in Prague.

She has published in international peer-reviewed journals and contributed to several collective monographs, including Czech Social Attitudes in the European Context (2024) and Fear of Crime: Myths and Reality (2020). In 2022, she received the Otto Wichterle Award from the Czech Academy of Sciences in recognition of her scientific achievements.
