The chapter introduces new housing policy tools proposed in connection to economic crisis. The first one is the “temporary bridging loan for homeowners repaying mortgage loans”, who were caught in defaults because of the crisis. The effectiveness of the tool, target groups and basic principles of application are discussed. The second tool is the “educational programme for managers of the housing stock”, which should lead to more effective management and renovation of the housing stock. …

The book treats the problem of functioning of democracy from the perspective of trust. Three main types of trust are defined in the democratic system: systemic trust (legitimacy of the regime), trust in institutions and general trust in other people. Působení primárních a sekundárních faktorů sociálního původu při přechodu na vysokou školu v ČR: výsledky výzkumu PISA-L

The main objective of this paper is to show to what extent and why students with the same academic aptitude but different social backgrounds have different odds of entering university. For our analysis, we separated primary and secondary factors of social origin in the formation of educational inequalities. The results of the conducted analyses (using logistic regression) show that the primary and secondary factors have approximately the same influence on the transition to university.…
