Článek je příspěvkem ke kritickému čtení postojových dat na základě prezentace výzkumů ISSP “Pracovní orientace” 1997 a 2005 v ČR. Nejprve jsou pojednány metodologické problémy zjišťování hodnot a poté ukázán kontext systémové transformace. Dále se porovnávají očekávání lidí v zaměstnání s jejich subjektivním naplněním. Empirický výzkum chudoby v českých zemích ve třech historických obdobích
